We will be hitting the streets for 10 weeks from the 28 December in, alternate nights in Torquay and Paignton with a catering trailer and providing drinks and hot food, hats and gloves to meet the real needs of those who have no place to go….. not even a stable ( is it too early to mention Christmas?)
We will be parking up the trailer and then cooking and serving food and warm drinks to the homeless from 7 pm to 9 pm, but will be onsite from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Last year we served over 7,500 cups of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and 1400 evening meals.
There will be face to face training and get a chance to see the catering unit and discuss how we as a whole team will run this to maximum effect.
I am sure there are many question and they will all be answered.
Please note - we are aware that others are handing out sleeping bags to the homeless at present and we do not want to duplicate this, so we are looking how best to provide either alternatives based on the feedback we are receiving.
